Lil Woody Alleges Police Coercion in Young Thug’s RICO Case.

The RICO trial of Young Thug continued on August 12, with the return of key witness Kenneth “Lil Woody” Copeland to the stand. Prosecutors questioned Copeland about his previous interactions with law enforcement concerning the rapper, the founder of Young Stoner Life Records.

Judge Paige Reese Whitaker presented Copeland with a tough choice: testify or stay in jail until the end of the trial. Copeland chose to testify, albeit reluctantly, voicing his exasperation with, “I’m tired of y’all bothering me.”

During his testimony, Copeland confessed to falsely accusing Young Thug of various crimes to alleviate pressure from law enforcement. He stated, “The police kept arresting me for anything they could… To get them off my back, I blamed Thug for things I knew he hadn’t done.” He stressed that he felt pressured by the police, who frequently mentioned Young Thug during his arrests.
